I have walked this earth for hundreds of years. I have seen our people triumphant and feared around the world and I have watched as they settled back in their homelands or dispersed throughout the world. They have adapted, endured and survived just as Norse folk always have.
I have protected my aett, my clan, from the perils of nature and the perils they have brought upon themselves. I guide them on the path to Valhalla. There are many pitfalls in mortal life and many folk stumble. I save those I can, including my nephew, the young yarling, Halvard. I have made sure that my brother’s new witch wife, the black nom, will never get him. Hal must walk in the new world. He will become the leader he is destined to be, but he will be among the Others. I have placed the boy with Norse descendants from his own aett. Even though they don’t follow the old ways, they are Norse folk and will guide and protect him. I will never be far away if he needs me.
